Written in British English, its an OK read. Some of the rules explanations are rudimentary at best. It would be helpful if the actual rules as they are written were cataloged in the real life scenario and explanations. Its a book about golf so I still like it. If you are brand new to golf and have no idea about any rules or etiquette you absolutely should read this book. If your a seasoned golfer with a decent grasp of the rules, it will be of limited value. If I had a young person just starting golf it would be a great tool. I have a good grasp of the rules, so I wanted something that really dug in and gave scenarios that were outside the norm that require some deeper knowledge of the rules. I was looking for a book with more of the what ifs...than a basic primer on the rules. Overall not a regrettable purchase, just geared more toward the beginner.Product details

Not a good quick reference guide on rules. It is written in story format, so it tends to be long and drawn out.
explains rules in a playing situation so it is easy to understand. It is not trying to be an explain-all but it does a good jobs with some of the most seen situations.
I am a new golfer. I found this format to be very helpful. It doesn't cover all the rules, but seemed to hit the ones you are likely to encounter.

Was a very good entry level exposure to the more common rules of golf that the average player would most likely come into contact with during the average round of golf. Everything was explained in easy to understand terms.
